The full-time three-year degree programme of BA Visual Art at Patkar- Varde College, is about creativity for purpose - educating students to be design leaders who address real-world challenges through balancing high levels of creativity and technical capability with contextual insight and empathy for people. The curriculum provides a platform for students to conceptualize and validate ideas by canvassing, provoking, challenging, and questioning. It enables an in-depth understanding of the dynamic field of advertising and design communication in its various forms – print, radio, television, advertising, social media, various other types of media, and motion graphics. The teaching methodology incorporates lectures, sessions with industry experts, workshops, etc. Students are encouraged to work on independent projects and give presentations in class. The guest lectures with industry experts facilitate open and meaningful interaction between students and professionals to bridge the gap between academics and industry.
The curriculum is designed to familiarize students with both the rudiments of traditional as well as contemporary design and the most advanced design techniques in practice.
Individual projects tutored by a strong team of faculties, practicing designers, and design researchers, students determine their own design culture whilst Qbuilding a portfolio of work that will locate them in their desired professional context. Graduates are creative catalysts and visionaries who go on to become leaders in their respective fields.
